Bylaws and Governance
The bylaws of Columbia REA contain the rules and procedures for
governing the Cooperative. These bylaws may be revised periodically
by a vote of the membership at annual meetings. It is important
for you to be familiar with these bylaws so that you can participate
in the governance of your cooperative. One of the primary opportunities
for your participation in the governance of the Cooperative is
at the Annual Membership Meeting.
This meeting is held each year between March 1st and April 30th.
Announcement of the meeting is published in advance in the Columbia
REA Annual Report, through a mailing to each member and in the
local newspapers. The meeting is a time to hear news about Columbia
REA activities, vote for board members, vote on other items needing
member action, and to share a meal and socialize with fellow members.
The meal and door prizes are complimentary to members who attend
the meeting.
