Engineering Technician
Columbia Rural Electric Association is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Engineering Technician located at the Cooperative’s Walla Walla Service Center.
Responsibilities include meeting customers, overhead and underground distribution line design, estimating materials and costs of projects, and the preparation of work orders. This position also helps maintain the Cooperative’s ESRI GIS system. Minimum qualifications include a two-year technical degree in engineering with a strong emphasis in electrical theory and computer applications. A minimum of two years utilities experience is preferred. Must be proficient with AutoCad, MS Office Suite, and ESRI software. Should also be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, and possess a valid Washington State drivers license. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal communications and time management skills.

Journey Lineman
Columbia Rural Electric Association has an opening for a Journey Lineman to be based in the Service Center in Burbank, Washington.
This position requires performance of all responsibilities required of a Journey Lineman status including construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground distribution systems. Applicant must qualify as an IBEW journeyman electrical lineman and become a member of Local 77 within 90 days; possess within 30 days a Washington State CDL with Class A endorsement; provide proof of safety, first aid, and CPR training; have the ability to operate digger derricks, bucket trucks, backhoe, and other equipment commonly used in the electric utility business; and reside within 15 miles of the service center. Selected applicant must pass a job related pre-employment physical examination and drug screening test.
The Columbia REA service area lies in Southeastern Washington where there is abundant mountain and water recreational activities, educational opportunities, and friendly communities experiencing a lot of development. This position offers an excellent benefit package including 401-K and Pension Plan, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Wage scale is established by the Union Contract, and is $34.21 per hour.

Customer Service Representative
Columbia Rural Electric Cooperative, a progressive electric utility serving Walla Walla, Columbia, and Umatilla counties, is accepting applications for the full time position of Customer Service Representative for their Walla Walla office.
Columbia REA is seeking a self-directed and motivated individual with a positive work/life outlook to contribute to our cooperative team. In addition, the successful applicant will demonstrate a professional attitude, strong oral and written communication skills, pleasant and calm personality, and computer skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook. Must have the ability to communicate with members/customers in person and on the telephone, practice organizational skills, analyze and resolve problems.

Preference may be given to individuals with prior knowledge of billing issues relating to irrigation and electric utilities and/or experience with the iVUE electric billing program.
