Formed in 2000, Columbia Energy, L.L.C. (CELLC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Rural Electric Association. CELLC was created to offer non-electric, value-added services to customers in our service area and the community at large where those services were either unavailable or inadequate.
CELLC owns and operates a wireless broadband communications backbone located in Walla Walla, Columbia and Umatilla Counties. The high-speed, high capacity system enables enhanced communications services over the two counties as well as high-speed access to the Dayton area.
Provision of this service is an extension of the original mission of Columbia REA which was formed to provide electrical service to our rural area when no one else would. While Columbia REA provides electrical distribution service to its members, CELLC offers telecommunication services directly to end-users.
